Method

Marking the 45 Devta Pads: 11.25 Degrees Outside, 18-54-18 Rule Inside

After the bhoomi rings are drawn, the outer ring is cut into 32 pads of 11.25 degrees each, starting with Som devta centred on North, and the middle ring into 12 inner pads with an 18-54-18 degree split for each direction.

What it does

Shows exactly which devta sits at which angle of the plot so its energy can be used and treated.

Where

Outer pishach bhoomi (32 pads), middle dev-manushya bhoomi (12 pads), brahmasthan (Brahma)

Samagri used

  • Plan with the bhoomi rings drawn
  • Protractor or the Geo Vastu devta chakra
  • Scale, pencil and a red pen

How to do it

  1. 1Mark the actual North of the plot with its tilt, for example 5 degrees
  2. 2Mark 5.625 degrees on both sides of North; this pad is Som devta, half on each side
  3. 3From there mark every 11.25 degrees (360 divided by 32) around the circle
  4. 4Draw these lines from the centre only through the outer pishach bhoomi to get the 32 outer pads
  5. 5For the middle ring mark 27 degrees on each side of the North line (half of 54) and repeat for East, South and West
  6. 6The 54-degree central parts hold the main devta of each direction and the 18-degree corner parts hold small devtas such as Aap and Aapvatsa
  7. 7Place Brahma in the brahmasthan; all 45 devtas are now marked
  8. 8Or place the chakra North to North and centre to centre, rotate it by the tilt and mark directly

Cautions

  • Mark North with the actual tilt of the plot

Explanation and notes

Example pads: Shikhi (E1) 39.375 to 50.625 degrees and Parjanya (E2) 50.625 to 61.875 degrees from North. In the middle ring each direction has 18 + 54 + 18 = 90 degrees, completed by three devtas.

Principleवास्तु पुरुष

Origin of Vastu Purush and the 45 Devtas, and Why They Matter

During Shiva's battle with Andhakasura a drop of his sweat produced a starving mahabhoot; devas and asuras laid him face down and 45 devtas sat on him, creating 45 places with separate functions on every plot. Brahma made him his manas putra and promised that whoever occupies land would remember and feed him.
