Main Door Vastu: 32 Door Padas, Dehleez, Torans and Window Rules
The main door is treated as the nose and face of the house: it draws nature-given energies in and lets negativity out, so it must have two shutters, a rectangular shape with height twice the width, a four-piece wooden chaukhat and a dehleez. All 32 door padas from E1 to N8 are read with their results, and the door direction is matched to the owner by rashi, exalted planets and mulank. Remedies for wrongly placed doors include dehleez installation with silver and pancha ratna (door power), a seven sea-salt usara of the door, an ashtadhatu bell, mango leaf and cow-dung swastik bandhanwars, direction-wise torans and a black horseshoe for West doors. Window and ventilator rules and a long Q&A on door types, dehleez, clockwise exit and astro door selection complete the class.
Standing outside, circle seven lumps of sea salt clockwise in front of the main door while the right nostril is active, throw the negativity out and discard the salt. Given as a great brahmastra, it brings relief from quarrels and unrest within 24 hours.
Hang a black horseshoe on the outside of a West main door with its open end up, like the letter U. Shown as a brahmastra, it removes any number of defects of the door.
Have an Om or swastik made of sandalwood and paste it on the main door. It brings very good results, following the royal practice of mixing sandalwood into door wood.
Hang an ashtadhatu (eight-metal) bell at the main door and ring it on entering. Its sound waves drive away negative energy sitting at the door so that positive energy enters with you.
Main door, whether it stands on a right or a wrong pada
Sprinkle a little water on the main door threshold every morning and make a rangoli to welcome the Sun. For a wrongly placed door, plaster the ground in front with cow dung daily and make the rangoli in the colour of that zone.
Hang a bandhanwar of good mango leaves, ideally with Om and swastik tied on and a swastik drawn in kesar, on a main door built on a wrong pada. It reduces the ill effect of the door by about 50 percent.
For a main door on a wrong North pada, hang a toran of flowers or of wood and silver, or a blue swastik bandhanwar of 9, 11, 13 or 15 swastiks in a crescent shape. Mercury rules the North and is pleased by flowers.
Main door on a wrong North pada, such as N1, N2, N6 or N7
For a defective East door, hang a toran of wood and brass or of metal with gems, or a green square swastik bandhanwar made on leaves or another base, put up on a Monday.
For a main door on a wrong South pada, hang a toran of stones or gems, a toran of copper and wood, or a red triangular swastik bandhanwar put up on a Saturday or Tuesday.
For a main door on a wrong West pada, hang a metal toran of copper, brass, bronze, mixed metal or ashtadhatu made as the ashtamangal symbols, or a yellow or white swastik bandhanwar put up on a Saturday.
Make round discs of desi cow dung, mark a swastik on each and string them into a bandhanwar for the main door. The teacher calls it his Kohinoor: it ends the defects of a door built in any wrong place.
Extract the juice of mango leaves and plaster it beneath the place where the unmarried girl or boy sleeps. Marriage and other auspicious events that were stuck then get completed.
Under the bed or sleeping place of the person concerned
Design the main door like a face: two shutters as the nostrils, two small niches as the eyes, two jharokhas as the ears, an Om or swastik as the tilak, and the threshold and upper frame as the lips. Ancient texts say such decoration multiplies the power of the main door many times.
Door power means installing the dehleez, the base wood of the four-piece door frame, in a proper muhurta and swar with protective samagri placed in the ground beneath it. Done this way it removes about 50 percent of the dosh even of a wrongly placed door.
Mark Om and swastik on the main door, write the name of your isht (chosen deity) and add auspicious symbols such as kalash and darpan. Do it in a good muhurta such as Basant Panchami or after the Sun turns Uttarayan.
Divide the 360 degrees around the centre of the house into 32 padas of 11.25 degrees each, one for each of the 32 guardian devtas of the outer ring, named E1 to E8, S1 to S8, W1 to W8 and N1 to N8. The pada in which the main door falls tells its result.
The main door is the door of fortune: like the two nostrils it draws nature-given positive energy into the whole house and lets negative energy out. Its two shutters stand for ida and pingala, the two breaths that alternate roughly every hour.
In the East, E3 is the best door with abundant wealth and E4 brings government support and respect, while E5 suits administrators only. E1, E6, E7 and E8 should not hold the main door.
Main door on the East side, from the North-East corner to the South-East corner
In the South only S4 (Grihakshat) gives happiness, peace, prosperity and business profit. S2, S3, S5, S6, S7 (the debt door) and S8 bring lack of children, servitude, suffering, selfishness, debt and disease.

In the West, W4 (Pushpadant) showers wealth and W5 (Varun) also gives wealth, while W1, W2, W3, W6, W7 and W8 bring short life, overspending, loss of money, government trouble, disease and a destructive mind.
Main door on the West side, from the South-West corner to the North-West corner
In the North, N3 brings sons and wealth, N4 (Bhallat) is the best of all 32 doors with windfall wealth, and N5 gives wealth with dharma and fame. N1, N2, N6, N7 and N8 bring suffering, enemies, family stress, faults in women and poverty.

Large business doors and shop shutters often span two to four padas. When the favourable pada, for example S4, is fully included and open, the door gives the results of that pada.
E3, N4 and W4 are the three vipul sampada (abundant-wealth) doors. Virtual doors marked on these padas are heavily promoted, but they give only a tiny fraction of the result of an actually opened door.
There are three types of doors: the boundary wall door, the main door and room doors. The pada results apply mainly to the main door, the door through which you actually enter the home.
Boundary wall gate, main door and internal room doors
Vedic vastu matches the facing of the main door to the rashi of the male house owner. Even in a suitable direction, the door must still stand on a good pada.
An exalted planet in the lagna chart of the owner opens his fortune through a door in the direction of that planet, while certain debilitated planets and conjunctions rule a direction out completely.
Each mulank (root number of the birth date) belongs to a planet, and the direction of that planet is the favourable door side: 1 East, 2 North-West, 3 North-East, 4 and 7 South-West, 5 North, 6 South-East, 8 West and 9 South.
The shape of a door affects the household: triangular, cart-shaped (shakat), winnow-shaped (supa), bow-shaped, sun-shaped and round doors all bring problems. A door should always be rectangular with a full frame.
The main door should be rectangular, its height twice its width, with a four-piece wooden chaukhat. When the 1:2 ratio cannot be kept, size it by aay (length times width divided by 8) to get a 1 or 3 aay door.
A dehleez is essential in the main door and good in every door. Make it of wood for a soft nature or of stone for firmness, keep it above the floor and mount the door on top of it.
Planet-direction rules for metals apply to items placed above the ground, where cosmic energy acts. Underground, minerals are not laid out by direction, so silver and similar samagri can be buried wherever needed, for example under every door.
Make the main door of solid wood such as teak, ideally with a little sandalwood, and carve auspicious symbols, mantras and floral designs on it. Energy takes on the chemistry of the material it passes through, so flush, ply, fibre and glass doors weaken the result.
A main door must not face a T-junction or a temple, must not open straight onto an open courtyard and must not have another door above it. All doors should be at one level, and the main door needs a porch and decoration.
Even an N4 door fails if it leans, has holes, stands at a dead end, is reached from the back of the house, or is obstructed by a pit, tree, pillar or T in front. Such defects (dwar dosh and dwar vedh) cancel the good of the pada.
When leaving the house, first move clockwise, to your right, from the main door. A door from which people go out anticlockwise is called heen bahu dwar and gives less of its result.
Torans are chosen by the purpose and work of the place: flower torans for a king-like life and respect, stone torans for palaces, forts and soldiers, a special toran for treasuries and finance work, and gem (ratna) torans for the home temple.
Main doors, city gates, treasury doors and the home temple
Windows and ventilators work on the lighter, higher layers of energy and are needed to let negativity out. Place them on the allowed padas, make them open outward, keep them in even numbers and ideally two-shuttered, and open them every morning.
All windows and ventilators; a window and its ventilator on the same pada
A vastu dosh does not trouble a family all the time. Its ill effect appears when the related planet runs its dasha, mahadasha, antardasha or pratyantar dasha.
Any defective door or zone
Questions asked in this session
Why is the main door considered so important in a house?
The main door works like the two nostrils of the body: close both and life ends, and breathing through the mouth alone never feels right. In the same way the main door takes in the energy given by nature, which arrives as rays of different composition at each angle, and distributes it through the whole house, much as breath reaches the 72,000 nadis; it also lets out the negative energy created inside. That is why it is called the door of fortune and carries the most marks of any part of the house. If the main door is wrong, even a well-placed bedroom and kitchen will not give their results, because the right energy never comes in.
The two shutters correspond to the Ida and Pingala nadis: we breathe through one nostril and then the other, each flowing for about an hour, so a door with two shutters brings energy in and lets it out easily, while a single shutter struggles to do both. Doors thousands of years old, and even the small room doors of old palaces, were always made with two shutters. The main door must have two shutters; inner doors should preferably have two as well, though one shutter is acceptable there.
The North-East is the most sacred direction, so why should the main door not be opened at E1, the pada of Shikhi devta?
Because it is the most sacred and pure place, entering there with shoes and slippers is a serious problem. Shikhi devta, who sits at E1, then produces his fire, and his anger brings agni bhay (fear of fire), a greater chance of fire breaking out in the house. So E1 should not be used for the main door, even though people commonly praise it.
Why is the E3 door considered the best of all East doors?
Before sunrise the Sun produces rays at E3 that carry minerals, vitamins and a gold composition. A well-decorated two-shutter door open at E3 therefore brings abundant wealth, and there is no shortage of money. E3 is one of the three vipul sampada dwar (abundant-wealth doors), along with N4 and W4.
If doors are already open on wrong padas, how are they treated in interior vastu?
Vedic vastu says the defects of a wrongly placed door can be removed through the decoration of the door itself: auspicious symbols, yantras, paintings and artworks made on the door, door power at the threshold, and a bandhanwar (toran) hung on it. This class therefore treats wrong doors with symbols, torans, bandhanwars and colours rather than structural changes.
A shop shutter often spans four padas, such as S3, S4, S5 and S6. Which pada decides the results?
Do not worry that S3 and S6 are also open: if the good pada, S4, is open within the shutter, the shop gives the results of S4, because when energy enters from every part, positive and negative, the result follows the positive. Trouble comes only when the good part is closed and the bad parts are open; then keep the shutter closed and open a small door on the good pada instead. In combination doors for business, always keep the favourable pada fully open.
What is chhappar phaad wealth, and which door brings it?
Chhappar phaad ke means wealth that arrives while you sit quietly, for example someone leaving you a fortune worth thousands of crores in a will. The N4 door of Bhallat devta, the best of all 32 door padas, is called the vipul sampada dwar and brings money in overflowing measure. In one well-known case a childless industrialist family left its entire estate by will to the chartered accountant who had served them, and the beneficiary's house had a complete N4 door decorated exactly as an N4 door should be; former employees became the owners of a huge group.
My main door is in the South; how should it be treated?
In interior vastu a wrong door is treated only with symbols and similar items, since the full door treatment alone would take about five classes. For South door defects the class gives bandhanwars of stone or gems, a toran of copper and wood, and a red triangular swastik bandhanwar hung on a Saturday or Tuesday. In the South only S4 is a good pada, and it suits those with Kark, Makar or Kanya rashi, mulank 9, or an exalted or own-sign Mars.
My main door covers N8 and E1. However much money comes in, loans keep running, one ending as the next begins. Is this the poverty effect of the door?
Yes. N8 is the door of poverty (nirdhanta): a shortage of money persists and one keeps borrowing from others and from banks. The North-East corner padas around N8 and E1 are the doors that make a person poor, which is why the main door should not be in the Ishaan corner. Close it if that is at all possible.
With my door on N8 and E1 I have never seen any fear of fire. Why not?
A dosh does not act all the time. Any defect gives its bad effect only when the related planetary dasha, mahadasha, antardasha or pratyantar dasha runs; fear of fire comes when a Mars period such as Angarak yoga is active. Fear can also take other forms, such as constant insecurity about the future.
Which mahadasha should the N8 door defect be related to?
N8 is the location of Jupiter (Guru), so it relates to the Guru mahadasha. The fear connected with it appears when combinations such as Jwalamukhi yoga or Angarak yoga form. Otherwise some fear, such as insecurity about the future, tends to remain anyway.
A relative's flat had its door at E1. After buying the adjoining flat and removing the common wall the entrance came onto N4, and soon their ancestral land was acquired for a bullet-train project and they received crores. Is this the N4 effect?
Yes, this is chhappar phaad wealth, which comes as soon as N4 opens. E3, N4 and W4 are the three vipul sampada dwar (abundant-wealth doors). Opening them virtually gives perhaps 1 percent of the actual result, so do not believe the heavy promotion of virtual doors; it is the actual opening that brings the result.
Do these pada results apply to the boundary wall door, the main door or every door of the house?
There are three types of doors: the boundary wall door (for example the entrance of a multi-storey building or the gate of a bungalow), the main door through which you enter your own home, and room doors such as the kitchen or bedroom door. The interpretation applies mainly to the main door. The boundary wall door also plays a role, but much less, because even after entering the gate you cannot get into the house if the main door is locked.
Is it true that untimely death (akaal mrityu) happens in North-facing houses?
No. The North is large, running from N1 to N8, so first locate the pada of your door, whether N6, N7, N1 or another. Mostly it is N1 that is bad: it brings death-like suffering and should never be used for a door.
When the main door is installed in a muhurta, its four-piece frame (chaukhat) is set up and the base piece of wood is the dehleez (threshold). Door power means installing that dehleez in a muhurta combined with the right swar, with the prescribed samagri, such as silver and pancha ratna, placed in the ground beneath it. Done this way, even a door in a wrong place has about 50 percent of its defect removed. The full door treatment is part of the complete course.
How do we find N1 to N8 and the other door padas on a map?
Use the zoning chakra shown on the first day, or draw it: from the centre of the map draw the four directions 90 degrees apart and the corner directions at 45 degrees, then halve again to 22.5 degrees and once more to 11.25 degrees, which gives 32 padas (360 degrees shared by the 32 guardian devtas). Starting from E1 next to the North-East line, go round clockwise from E1 to E8, then S1 to S8, W1 to W8 and N1 to N8, on the 81-pada grid. Practise this as homework.
Should the balcony door also be included when judging the doors, and does a South-West balcony door have to be blocked?
A balcony door is counted in the category of room doors, not as a main door. Asked whether a balcony door in the South-West also has to be blocked, the answer was yes.
Yes. With the person's astrology as the base, the door is chosen according to whom it will suit. The class covers three ways, by rashi, by exalted and debilitated planets in the birth chart, and by mulank, and the birth chart carries the most weight.
What is mulank, and why does it carry less weight than rashi or the birth chart in choosing a door?
Mulank is the digit sum of the birth date: born on the 1st it is 1, on the 11th 1 + 1 = 2, on the 13th 1 + 3 = 4, on the 18th 1 + 8 = 9. Indian astrology gives it little weight because India runs by tithi, not by date; if dates mattered, tides, amavasya, purnima and eclipses would fall on fixed dates. Doors by mulank follow the planet of each number (1 Sun East, 2 Moon North-West, 3 Jupiter North-East, 4 Rahu and 7 Ketu South-West, 5 Mercury North, 6 Venus South-East, 8 Saturn West, 9 Mars South), but the rashi and the birth chart should decide.
What shape and proportion should the main door have?
It should always be rectangular, with a full chaukhat of four pieces of wood; a three-piece frame does not give the same results even on N4. Its height should be twice its width, for example 7 feet high for a 3.5-foot width, so do not run doors up to the full height of the room as some new buildings do. Where the 1:2 ratio cannot be kept, calculate the aay (length x width divided by 8; the remainder is the aay) and make a door of 1 or 3 aay. Avoid triangular doors (trouble for women), shakat doors (trouble for the family head), supa and sun-shaped doors (loss of money), bow-shaped doors (family disputes) and round doors (trouble for children, more girls born).
Why were silver and pancha ratna placed under the dehleez in temples, palaces and old buildings?
When the thresholds of thousand-year-old temples, forts and palaces were lifted, silver coins and pancha ratna were found beneath them. The dehleez itself stops negative surface currents and tantric attacks from crossing into the house; silver stops negative energy from entering and cancels the ill-effects of the door, and the pancha ratna make positive energy flow through the dehleez and multiply on every festival as it enters the house. Roots of certain plants, such as black dhatura, were also placed in the dehleez so that no ghost or evil obstruction could enter.
Does it matter in which direction silver, iron or other metals are placed underground?
No. Direction rules for metals apply above the ground, where the cosmic energy of the planet's location acts, not underground. If they applied underground, silver would be found only in the North-West, gold only in the East and iron only in the West. Iron rods are laid through the whole slab anyway, so cutting a zone with an iron strip means nothing; learn vastu with logic and science.
How thick should the dehleez be, and of what material?
The dehleez should be 3 inches thick and made of high-grade, artistic wood. The door too should be artistic: old doors carried symbols such as Om and Swastik, mantras and creeper motifs, which increase the door's power.
What results do flush, plywood, fiber and glass main doors give?
The main door should be only of wood, best of teak, and royal doors were of sandalwood or had a little sandalwood mixed in. Flush doors are made from plywood of thorny shrubs, so even a house costing crores with a cheap flush main door does not get good results, because energy takes on the chemistry of the material it passes through. A sandalwood Om or Swastik pasted on the door also gives very good results.
Why should an open courtyard not be visible as soon as you enter the house?
If an open-to-sky space appears right at the entrance, the energy coming in through the main door escapes straight out through it. So the entrance should be a little enclosed.
Which toran should a vastu consultant (vastuvid) hang?
The teacher left it to the students; their suggestions, a mango leaf swastik toran and a toran of cow-dung cakes, were both called correct. He then gave his best (Kohinoor) bandhanwar for any wrongly placed door: make round discs of desi cow dung, draw a swastik on each, fix them on a bandhanwar strip and hang it on the main door, and the defects end. The alternative, a daily desi cow-dung lepan in front of the main door with a rangoli in the colour of its zone, is hard to keep up every day, so the permanent bandhanwar is better.
They can be either. In the South and West, from where negative energy comes, three doors in a row on padas where doors should not be are inauspicious. In the North and East they are auspicious: temples, all built facing North or East, have three or five doors in a row, as do royal palaces, so the blanket belief that they are bad is a myth.
What does a window do, and why should it open outward?
A door is placed by pada, but a window does not work on the surface current: currents are dense near the ground and lighter higher up, so positive energy stays higher, which makes ventilation a must. Windows and ventilators bring in clean air and push the negativity of the house out, so they should open outward, while the main door opens inward; sliding windows are acceptable. Keep windows in even numbers, two-shuttered if possible, in one row at one level, with a window beside the main door; open all windows in the morning and keep the left (Chandra swar) window open during the day.
On which padas can windows and ventilators be made?
In the North anywhere from N1 to N5; from N8 across the East up to E7, but not at E8; in the South on S3, S4 and S5; and in the West on W3, W4 and W5. These are the green-marked padas of the window chart.
For a house on the ground floor, does the energy that circulates in it come in through the ground level?
Energy behaves like materials of different specific gravity: the densest settles at the bottom, as dirt does, and the lighter the energy, the better it is. That is why ground-floor flats sell cheapest and higher flats cost more. People living on the topmost floors face the fewest vastu doshas, because the winds ventilate the space and keep the energy flowing.
Large glass panes now fill whole walls instead of windows. Do they count as windows, since the window pada chart cannot be applied to them?
With UPVC systems whole sections can open, so at least open the part that has an opening system, wherever possible. Following the allowed span, the East from E1 to E7 can be opened fully, at least five padas of the North, three padas of the South and three or four padas of the West.
Can we also get the professions and diseases linked to each door pada?
Yes, every entrance has its related profession and the type of disease it can bring, and some padas are rog dwar (doors of disease). The teacher promised two charts, one for diseases and one for professions, since a complete door study takes seven to eight hours; residential and industrial doors are studied in detail in the industrial vastu module.
My Jupiter is exalted and my door is on N6-N7, towards the North-East, yet we have had no problems. Why?
The Ishaan (North-East) corner belongs to Jupiter, so people whose Jupiter is exalted can keep their door there. This shows how the birth chart decides which door suits a person.
Mulank 4 and 7 point to a South-West door. If Rahu is exalted in the chart, can one keep a South-West main door?
It has been seen that people whose Rahu is exalted, at a good degree and giving good results, had South-West doors without much trouble. Even so, a South-West door should be avoided. Where one exists, do the main door usara with seven sea-salt lumps given in this class, which gives very good results.
My house covers the whole 200-square-yard plot. Its only door opens on N3-N4, but an underground water tank lies right after the entrance. Will this door give its good results, and which door counts as the main door?
No door gives results, however good its pada, if it suffers a vedh such as a pit, tree, T-junction, pillar or column at the door. Here the energy entering through the door falls into the pit of the tank, so close that tank. When the whole plot is built and you enter through one door, that is the main door; generally the main door is the one through which you reach inside the house after the gate. A door made at the back after circling the house (prishtha bhang dwar), or one you leave anti-clockwise, also fails to give full results, even on N4.
In which zone should the chabutra (raised platform) be built?
Although it is not this class's topic, the chabutra is always built at the corner: in WSW, SW or SSW. All three belong to Nairutya: the southern Nairutya, Nairutya itself and the western Nairutya.
In a large property with a boundary wall door and two or three doors in the building, people mostly use one and keep the rest closed. How much effect do the unused entrances have?
They still have a small effect, about 10 to 20 percent, while the main door used for coming and going counts much more. Some houses have three main doors: if they are on correct padas they are not inauspicious even when they stay shut, so leave them. Doors on wrong padas that have been given the form of a door act as virtual doors.
When an office runs from one room of a residential apartment, is its entrance counted in the home's grid or is the office gridded separately?
It depends on the map. If the office has its own separate door, grid it separately, since its work and its door are separate, and grid the home separately too.
In the main door picture, which were the jharokhas and which were the niches (aale)?
The small niches were made for lamps; they are the eyes of the door, and lamps placed in them open its eyes. The jharokhas beside them are the ears. Lamps must be lit in the niches on festivals such as Diwali, Dussehra, Holi and Raksha Bandhan, and in royal houses they were lit daily; a house whose eyes stay open keeps a right watch over everyone. If a door, even one in a wrong place, is decorated like this with small desi cow ghee lamps in the niches, its defects do not apply.
All doors should be at one level, yet the main door's dehleez is raised. Does that mean the other doors also need a dehleez?
One level means that all the doors stand on the same floor level. The chaukhat and dehleez are always set above the floor, so every door is reckoned from that same floor level.
In the seven sea-salt lump usara of the main door, are the rounds made clockwise or anti-clockwise?
Clockwise only. Standing outside the main door, circle the hand holding the seven lumps clockwise in front of the door for the rounds, then sweep once or twice from the front as if pouring the energy out and throwing it away outside. Do it only while the right nostril (Surya swar) is active; done in the left swar it gives no result and instead invites negativity. Swar vigyan is the base of everything, and without swar, vastu is handicapped.
Temple door frames are of stone, and stone chaukhats are now common in homes. Should a home use stone or wood?
It depends on the nature the occupants need. Those who must keep firmness, such as kings and military people, use stone, while wood always represents softness, so those who want a gentle nature use wood. The door and its frame shape the nature of the people: if you need to become tough, make the dehleez of hard stone.
Should every door have a dehleez, or only the main door?
It is essential in the main door, and very good if every door has one. In a house the teacher built in Surat, every door was given a dehleez with silver placed under it.
Ashopalav leaves look like mango leaves and are widely used in bandhanwars in Rajasthan. Can they be used instead?
No. What counts is composition and quality, not appearance; ashopalav leaves have a different composition, so they do not carry the properties of mango leaves. Mango leaves have many special qualities: their juice is used for purifying land, and where marriage is not happening or auspicious functions keep failing, mango leaf juice is applied as a lepan beneath the place where the girl or boy sleeps, after which the auspicious events take place.
In my chart no planet is exalted or debilitated. How should I understand this for choosing a door?
There is nothing to read into it; not everyone has exalted or debilitated planets, and it is neither good nor bad. In such cases the door is chosen towards the direction in which the benefic planets sit, which was taken up in the evening astro-vastu class.
Flats usually have a single-shutter main door. Is it good to add a mesh (jali) door in front, so you can see who is outside?
Yes, a jali door can be made; it is called the supporting door of the main door and is an old tradition, since double paata frames were made earlier, with a jali door on one side and a two-shutter door. It needs a double paata chaukhat with a suitable dehleez, which builders generally do not provide in flats, so ask the builder; without that dehleez and frame the second door cannot be fitted.
My new flat's entry is on N4, but Mercury sits in the 8th house of my Mesh lagna chart, though not debilitated. Will using this door activate the 8th house?
Such a case has to be judged from the birth chart, so it was taken up as a special case study in the evening astro-vastu class. For this analysis only the lagna chart is used, not the navamsha, so only the lagna chart needs to be sent.
My flat has no dehleez, only the door and its frame. What can I do?
Take a shubh muhurta for dehleez installation (the teacher posts dehleez muhurtas every month) and have a dehleez made. It should still be of wood; make it of stone if you want to become firm and of wood for a softer nature, choosing the type of wood by the qualities you want.
You said to leave the main door clockwise, but the lift is on my left as I come out of the flat. What should I do?
When you step out of the main door, first go to the right, even a step or two, and then turn left; then there is no dosh. People do the same with cars, moving them a little in the clockwise direction first. Leaving the house anti-clockwise is called heen bahu dwar.
Our small house has an iron door outside and a wooden door inside. Which is the main door, and what if the inner door is on a wrong pada?
The wooden door is the main door. Iron is acceptable in the West, and an iron door in the boundary wall is acceptable. If the inner main door is on an unfavourable pada, correct it with the direction-wise bandhanwars and symbols taught in this class plus some door power. Moving it to S4 suits only if the male head of the house has Kark, Makar or Kanya rashi, because Vedic vastu judges this from the male head of the house alone, not from anyone else such as the wife.
